International organisations provide three meals a day to the beneficiaries of the Blažuj temporary reception centre in Sarajevo. However there is also a common space where people can cook their own, ethnic food. Balkan food is quite different from traditional Afghan, Pakistani, Indian, North African cuisine. This public kitchen is also a place where people congregate, spend time, drink tea and eat food they cook themselves.


Twenty-seven-year-old Shafi left his home in Afghanistan five years ago and has been on the road ever since. He wants to find his place in the world and be useful to society.
